Septic tank - A septic tank is part of a small scale sewage treatment system often referred to as a septic system, which consists of the tank itself and a septic drain field. Wastewater enters the tank where solids can settle and scum floats.
Septic drain field - Septic drain fields are used to remove contaminants and impurities from the liquid that emerges from the septic tank. This is typically done by burying perforated pipes in trenches and allowing the liquid to leach out and the surrounding soil absorbs the unwanted waste.
Reinforced concrete - Reinforced concrete (ferro concrete) is concrete in which reinforcement bars ("rebars") or fibers have been incorporated to strengthen the naturally brittle concrete. The use of reinforced concrete is a relatively recent invention, usually being considered as covering the last 150 years, Jean-Louis Lambot was the first to use reinforcing in concrete in 1848.
Maginot Line - The Maginot Line (named after French minister of defense André Maginot) was a line of concrete fortifications, tank obstacles, machine gun posts and other defenses which France constructed along its borders with Germany and with Italy in the wake of World War I. Generally the term describes either the entire system or just the defenses facing Germany while the Alpine Line is used for the Franco-Italian defenses.
